Stetson & Ellison Cannery

The Stetson & Ellison Cannery was started around 1856 by Leroy Stetson and William Ellison. The cannery was located behind Ellison’s house at 9 North Main Street. In 1884, a fire started inside, which destroyed the cannery along with Ellison’s house and the building on the corner. Ellison rebuilt the factory on the site that is now occupied by the Camden-Wyoming Fire Co.
