Walton H. Simpson

b. 1917, d. 1993

Walton Simpson was a businessman who owned Simpson Lumber Co. for 70 years. He served his community very well. He served on the Camden Town Council for sixteen years, was elected to the Delaware State Senate and was Secretary of State under Governor Russell W. Peterson. He also served on several boards including the Wilmington Trust Co., Wesley College, the Dover YMCA, and was the president of the board of Kent General Hospital. He built Whatcoat Church in Camden in 1967.
