Northeast Corner Store

301 East Camden Wyoming Ave

Samuel Hammond’s tinware & hardware store was located across the street from The National Hotel. Notice the variety of merchandise displayed outside. This postcard photo is dated 1907. The building dates to about 1885 as the previous building was destroyed by a fire in the Stetson & Ellison Cannery Co., located behind William Ellison’s house at 9 North Main St. In the 1900s it was used as a hardware store. In the 1940s it became an antique store among various other businesses.
