Dr. W. B. Simpson began as an agriculture teacher at Caesar Rodney and became the superintendent of the district in 1938. He was one of the most respected people in the community. He was credited with helping to save Wesley Junior College in the 1950s. He was a pillar of the community. He remained superintendent until 1961.
