Dr. Levin D. Caulk

b. 1844, d. 1895

Dr. Levin D. Caulk was a dentist who also produced dental supplies. He produced these supplies in a small shed behind his home at 228 East Camden Wyoming Ave. Dr. Caulk died of pneumonia, which he contracted after injuries sustained falling from his horse. Mrs. Caulk convinced his friend, Dr. Frank Grier, who was from Milford, that he open a dental practice in Dover, to manage the business. The following year, Mrs. Caulk’s daughter married Dr. Grier. The two men bought the business from Mrs. Caulk and moved it to Milford in 1900. Today it is part of a large conglomerate with worldwide connections.
